Eastside Eats: Pearl Bar & Dining

So we only intended to go to Pearl for happy hour. The hostess said we still had time, but as soon as we navigated the bar and found a seat, the bartender said we were too late and their system switched over. We didn't really care, but since I work in the restaurant industry, the bar staff needs to figure that stuff out and bypass...just sayin'.

We almost left, but didn't feel like figuring out another destination. The hostess sat us in the EMPTY dining room. Red Flag or was it too early for dinner. We'll see.Roasted Heirloom Beets with Humbolt Fog Chevre, extra virgin olive oil, and micro beet greens. $8.00 for a starter, not bad.
I had a well deserved beer.
A House Specialty
The Bearing Sea Sablefish served with namya broth and dungeness crab dumplings.
I thought $33.00 was a little steep for fish, but it was worth it.

I had the Chef's Cioppino. Very good!

Shrimp, shellfish, white fish and tuna, red pepper rouille, garlic-tomato broth, and olive toast.
Worth the $25.00
One OOPS! The house cut fries with truffle-Parmesan never came, even after the server raved about it. We didn't bring it up, but it should not have happened considering the dining room was practically empty.
The Cheese Plate
Fine, but for $12.00, I would rather have a sweet treat!
Go for the Pearl Fritters with honey yogurt, ice cream and fresh berries. A bargain at $8.00.

YUMMY!!!
