FFWD: Almond Halibut Meunière and Friands
So the recipe selection for French Friday with Dorie is Almond Flounder Meunière ...
There was no Flounder at my neighborhood store. I suppose I could have planned better, but this sometimes happens when you start planning Friday dinner after work on Friday. OK, at $24.99 a pound for Halibut, a fish I don't really like, this better be good!
So, I figured if the halibut is not edible, I'll have my lovely Friands for dinner.
I have to say, it wasn't bad. Actually, the halibut was delicious.
I took Dorie's advise and served the fish with roasted fingerling potatoes, butter and chives.
My husband poured Sauvignon blanc and Friday night dinner was served! The both recipes can be found in Dorie Greensoan's Around My French Table.

Your dinner looks perfect - delicious fish, new fingerling potatoes (different colors, too) wine and wonderful Coconut Friands with raspberries for dessert! What more could one ask for! Wonderful photos and nice post!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
It was delicious! Thanks Andrea.
DeleteYour meal looks wonderful! I saw halibut here, but it was $17.00 for a piece half that size. It's a nice meaty fish and I bet was delicious with the nut breading.
ReplyDeleteThe halibut was a little thick, so it took a little longer to cook through. I was worried the almond would be burnt, but it was fine.
ReplyDeleteThat is truly a complete meal you have there. Glad that you like the halibut prepared this way. I managed to get flounder...lucky me. Love it and shall be making them again. Love the crunchy nutty crust and tender inside...mmmm yummy! Have a nice weekend!
