Fun Stuff: Vanilla Extract
I have never made this before. I've been baking more these days, so when I ran out of vanilla extract and needed to replace it, I was reminded of how much it cost. After a little research, I found several recipes for house made vanilla extract. I used 1/2 cup Tanduay Dark Rum from the Philippines and 3 whole vanilla beans. I keep the vanilla extract in a sterilized jar in the cupboard. I shake the jar every morning. The extract needs 2 months before it's ready.
